In the United Kingdom there is a television show called Doctor Who. It was not all that long ago this show returned to the UK with a man named Christopher Eccleston in the role of The Doctor. Briefly, one of his companions was a Captain Jack Harkness.
Captain Jack Harkness now has his own show. It’s called Torchwood and it is not on in the US. But resourceful bunny that I am I have seen the first two episodes.
People… this show is the best thing ever. It is better than The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who, and House MD all rolled into one. It is made of the awesome.

And you tell us this - Why?
Because I saw it and you didn’t. I am bragging. And it is just that good.
Any guesses as to when it will hit the States?
I don’t know if it will ever hit the States. Not without either being restricted to something like HBO or Showtime, or edited into oblivion. The first two episodes have somewhat graphic sex and swearing.
Sounds great– which of course means it will probably never get here, but will be remade a few years down the line, with subpar writing and acting. Sigh.
It really is good. It’s got the dark humour of Buffy and the monster of the week aspect of the early X-Files. If it showed up on American TV as a “borrowed from England” show it’d last about three episodes. No one would get it.
