Alternate Reality Television Shows #2
June 9, 2007
Way back in October, 2006 I posted the first Alternate Reality Television Show idea, and you know how it is. Once you have an idea for something, more and more just keep coming at cha like an avalanche. I mean, I’ve got idea number two and it’s only been eight months since the last one!
Boy. If I keep up this pace, I’ll burn out! I should also try to space ‘em out a little so you don’t get overwhelmed.
So here we go. Twisting popular television shows into something completely unwatchable!
Tonight’s episode: Saved By LaBelle
“Saved By LaBelle” is a half-hour sit-com suitable for the family hour. Set in a combined Junior/Senior high school, it starts with a group of ten kids (ethnically and socially diverse) in the seventh grade and chronicles their adventures, mistakes, heartbreaks and successes as they make their way through the years and, ultimately, high school graduation. All under the guidance of their tough-but-compassionate school principal, Patti LaBelle.
Show topics will include the dangers of underage drinking, cheating on important tests, why you should never play with stray dogs, and the special episode “Cancer isn’t contagious”, and the very special episode in which one of the minority characters is an innocent victim of drug/gang-related violence.
On the lighter side, there will be crushes, school dances, mistaken identities, overheard conversations that lead to hilarious misunderstandings. And a very special episode involving the school mascot!

I betcha at least once a season Principal LaBelle will be forced to substitute for a choir soloist and perform a deeply moving and uplifting song. And oh the hilarity when the Kids discover that mean ol Ms LaBelle can Rock Out.
Can you copyright this idea before Patti’s people run with it?
