Thank You
Thank you, Daylight Savings Time, for coming to an end. I hate you. I thought you’d like to know that. I hate getting up at 6 in the morning and knowing in the real world it was only five. I woke up at eight today and it was really eight and that was good.
I spend the entirety of DST fretting and irritable. The minute I get that hour back balance is restored to the universe.
Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating slightly.
So this past week I saw Morrissey on Halloween, met an online friend in person (he went to the Moz show with us), learned to knit (after years and years of trying to teach myself, Sam (the online friend) taught me in about an hour), took loads of pictures, and then got to see The Torrents perform live at the Brass Monkey in Fell’s Point last night.
Awesome. They did mostly new stuff. The sound was great. They were great. Totally wrong crowd, but they played their little hearts out. Pictures from that are later.
I’m even doing pretty good with NaNoWriMo, despite not writing at all yesterday.
Best. Week. Ever.

I’m still still adjusting for Daylight Savings Time. After a month or so, my body really did think that 4:30 AM is really 3:30 AM. I kept waking up at the same time every day, feeling like I needed to quickly shower and dress if I wanted to be in DC by 6:30.
So here we are back on Standard Time, and I’m waking up at 3:30 AM thinking I ought to be getting ready of work. The US should just pick one: are we 5-8 hours behind GMT or 6-9 hours behind GMT? Just pick one! Time is arbitrary, Americans are lazy-and-unproductive, and an “extra hour” all year long means we’ll all be home in time to watch Tia Tequila on MTV!
