John “Captain Jack Harkness” Barrowman has a new CD out. “Oh, another actor who thinks he can sing” you might say. But to be fair, Barrowman comes from a theatre background, and a lot of it is musical theatre, so he can actually sing.
Broadway-style.
Which makes his new CD really painful.
Dear John Barrowman,
You are incredibly attractive. You’re a surprisingly good actor. You can actually sing.
But you are the white version of Don “No Soul” Simmons.
Please. Stick to the standards and the showtunes. Even your incredibly gay rendition of “Don’t Fence Me In” is better than this.
Thank dog for 30-second samples, because forewarned is forearmed.
Love,
The Ninth

Saw Barrowman in “Putting it Together” with Carol Burnett, Bronson Pinchot, George Hearn and Ruthie Henshaw.
Didn’t put Capt. Jack to the face until I was watching Torchwood a couple of weeks ago and started to talk to my mom. Over her shoulder was the Poster for “PIT” and his pic was in perfect focus.
That was weird man…
Did get to meet Carol Burnett after the show.

BTW, thanks for getting me into Torchwood. Some of the best Sci-Fi drama ever cranked out, thank you very more.

“Torchwood” is crap, but it’s QUALITY crap.
I’m waiting now for the DVDs to be released in the US (I preordered already; they ship in January). The new season starts in the UK in January, as well.
*looks around suspiciously* GOSH. I HOPE I DON’T HAVE TO WAIT TOO LONG FOR BBC AMERICA TO AIR IT.
(BBC-A, by the way, is doing a great job with it. They’ve been very good about cutting it for time. Some cute lines have been sacrificed, but they’re not hacking it to bits and taking out all the “questionable” content.)
