More Things

The only thing wrong with this layout is the sidebar is on the left, and for some reason that doesn’t make me happy. I have no idea why, and I’m somewhat disinclined to move it.

I also have no idea why our GPS interferes with our EZPass. I’m also not sure where the antenna might be, or how far down four inches is. That’s hardware, man. I don’t do well with hardware.

I have a new computer at work and a brand new keyboard and typing on it is a little weird. I was really used to my old, softer one, so this one with a little kick to it is strange. I can tell you that I really want a new computer at home now. I love new computers.

Anyhow, speaking of work… must get back to it!

Things I Learned

Sunday we went to The Guitar Center. The one in Glen Burnie, instead of the one in Towson.

I learned that the GPS in the car really does interfere with the EZPass device. Kitti swears that it’s okay, and even though it didn’t read the little box, the fact that we have an EZPass account means it’ll be fine. I’m trusting him, because he worked for them for a pretty long time.

I learned that there are few things as beautiful as a wall covered with guitars.

I also got it into my head that I want to dress Kitti up like Captain Jack Harkness for Balticon. I’ve already got the coat….

You’re All Very Demanding People

BBC America did work. I think we’ve finally gotten all of that sorted out. Torchwood is still the best thing on television since The X-Files was new and shiny. James Marsters was fantastic. Ianto Jones is possibly the most awesome character ever created (sorry Mulder).

But.

But some of the spoilers I’m reading aren’t making me very happy.

I really don’t want to see Jack and Gwen get together.

A Day Off And Duties Done

Today the inspector came out to check the electrical work we had done recently. Later the plumber came and took out our garbage disposal and replaced it with a nice new pipe that doesn’t leak. He also put a spiffy strainer in the sink. It’s shiny!

I dyed bits of my hair green and listened to a lot of music. I also annoyed some of my friends via email, because I love them.

Today the mailman brought our EZPass.

Later, Kitti and I will go grocery shopping.

Maybe we’ll go through the tunnel to do it.

(I kid.)

Reminder: TORCHWOOD is on tomorrow, 9pm on BBC America. You owe it to yourself to watch it (if you have cable).

And they called it …. Puppy LoooOOoOOove…

We made a trek to Stafford, Virginia today to visit a breeder of Welsh Terriers, and yep, this is the dog for us. It’s the right size and the right attitude and the breeder also seems like a well choice. She’s bred and shown champions, and any puppy from her will have a good pedigree, but that’s only important as far as knowing the dogs are healthy and well-loved and cared for. The attitude of the adult dogs made that clear. They’re all friendly and well-socialised (with people and other dogs).

And I fell in love with one pup in particular. He’s much too young to go home with anyone yet, and it’s a very good chance we won’t even get him, because the breeder might keep him for showing if he develops well.

Before Mim left today she said “Do something funny online”.

The closest I could come up with is this.

werewolf_lib: No snow yet, and I am deeply unsatisfied by this. It’s time to undertake a task I’ve put off since the move — the shelving and categorizing of my cookbooks, plus a complete recount which I estimate will be at or over 900. If you never hear from me again, you can probably guess what happened to me!

ETA: New Jersey is missing. All of it but one lone cookbook. Also, some of Italy can’t be located. How often do you hear someone say they’ve misplaced Italy and New Jersey?

Depends. Are we in the Doctor Who/Torchwood universe? Or maybe Douglas Adams? Because then? A lot.

: That’s what I sound like — not a crazy person, a Time Lady! Earlier I was asking the cat if she knew where Maryland had gone. She didn’t. Maryland was eventually recovered under a stack of fiction.

theninth: Well that’s where I’d keep it.
