Things I Learned

January 29, 2008

Sunday we went to The Guitar Center. The one in Glen Burnie, instead of the one in Towson.

I learned that the GPS in the car really does interfere with the EZPass device. Kitti swears that it’s okay, and even though it didn’t read the little box, the fact that we have an EZPass account means it’ll be fine. I’m trusting him, because he worked for them for a pretty long time.

I learned that there are few things as beautiful as a wall covered with guitars.

I also got it into my head that I want to dress Kitti up like Captain Jack Harkness for Balticon. I’ve already got the coat….

  2. Woah! I come back in an hour and the website’s all different. Very easy to read, I must say. You sure do have the right coat - if Kitti won’t wear it then maybe You should.

  3. Where did you place your e-z pass? Check and see if your GPS antenna is easy to see on the car and place the pass somewhere else. Your GPS antenna is likely on your rear view mirror mount, so placing the RFID unit near it will cause a mis-read.

I’m so happy you driving again.

  4. Odd…

I’ve been driving around with EZ-Pass and a GPSr with active antenna for years now, and have never experienced a problem with the transponder being read.

However, placing the xpdr too close to the upper edge of the windshield will tend to cause problems. It really needs to be a good 4″ from the top of the glass.

  5. in the Prius, 4″ is a lot to ask. Have you tried the rear window?
