Archive for February, 2008I think probably everyone out there already reads this on a regular basis, but just in case… I used to read it daily, then for some reason forgot about it. There’s a man-made pond on the grounds of Johns Hopkins Bayview. There are occasional ducks and Canadian geese there, but over the past few years a heron has been there more and more often. It looks like it’s taken up permanent residence there. The quality of this picture isn’t great. It was well after sunset and I was on the other side of the pond, trying not to startle the bird. I think it came out well, though. A little bit eerie, which is fitting, because this is a pretty eerie looking bird. When not wandering around shouting “Cardiff, no” I’ve been knitting. Working on a scarf and hat to go with my greatcoat, and an afghan, that is going to take for-freaking-ever and require a hell of a lot more yarn than I anticipated because things like basic math are beyond my comprehension. (note to self: buy more yarn.) I’ve also been reading. Atheist Universe The Grouchy Grammarian Now I’ve got to go to the laundromat, because it’s been cold and raining and there’s a lot of washing that needs to be done. (Yes, Mim, you get both books when I’m done with them.) This gorgeous weather isn’t “wrong” for the time of year. Easter is incredibly early (it’s the earliest it can ever be) this year, and if the weather isn’t warm, there won’t be lilies at Easter. There might actually be daffodils for St David’s Day, too. My cat Anime’s birthday. She’s twelve. To celebrate, I got Anime a dog. Kitti’s band has a show tonight at the Red House Tavern, in Canton. Me? I gots a date with It’s also the birthday of actor Christopher “The Best Doctor On Doctor Who - EVER” Eccleston. I would share the dog with him. Today’s the day we get the dog…. |
