Words…words..they’re all we have to go on.
March 4, 2008
My friend Dawny misread “Cardiff’s New Coat” as “Cardiff’s New Goat”. I said she spoiled the surprise - we were going to get Cardiff a goat for his 6-month birthday (we’re really not). And then, with some help from Sam, the following happened.
Cardiff can wear his new coat.
When he goes to meet the new goat.
He may hate the kid
(It’d be sad if he did).
But then, he may dote on the goat.
Again - we’re not actually getting a goat.
Further in the land of animals… Mim and I were at Target on Sunday and we were looking at kitchen utensils. They have a whole lot that are made to look like animals. Things like octopus pot scrubbers and hedgehog vegetable brushes and scissors that look like toucans or flamingos or dolphins.
Then I found the monkey peeler.
Monkey peeler.
That’s what it was called. Monkey peeler.
Do I need to tell you where my mind went?
I showed it to Mim and said “I am going to say two words. Only two words and I don’t think any response is necessary because I know what you’ll think. Got that?” I paused for effect. “Monkey peeler.”
She went there, too.
