This Is Why The World Thinks Americans Are Stupid

Anger at ’slutty’ Starbucks logo.

The Resistance, a US-based Christian group, has called for a national boycott of the coffee-selling giant.

It says the chain’s new logo has a naked woman on it with her legs “spread like a prostitute… The company might as well call themselves Slutbucks”.

Slutbucks? Star*ucks?

A boycott, aye? BRB. Goin’ to ‘Bucks.

US chain drops ‘terror scarf’ ad

The US chain Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled an advert following complaints that the scarf worn by a celebrity chef offered symbolic support for Islamic extremism.

The online advert for iced coffee featured the well-known US television chef Rachael Ray.

She was wearing a black-and-white checked scarf around her neck that resembled a traditional Arab keffiyeh.

Rachel Ray

I think our biggest concern should be the fact that Rachael Ray is possibly evil it looks like Rachael Ray’s head is pasted on.

  3. I’m kinda glad to know that I can go to Starbucks without fear of running into those people. They probably get too hopped on the Devil’s Caffeine to go there anyway.

I’m just glad I wasn’t nabbed as a potential terrorist when I took those photos at Union Station on my birthday.

  4. Maybe we’re on to something here. Maybe the crazy body-hating, Arab-scarf-fearing, fake Christians have large investments in 7-11? When the rapture comes they’ll gather there (we know it’ll be open), and go up to Heaven.

Then can we drink our coffee in peace?

  5. The logo has legs?

  6. hmm, scaly legs that bend like that? She’s either a deformed mermaid or a woman who is holding a net with the coffee beans in them and showing you all their caffeine-y goodness. Sheesh!

You get the feeling that after they ascend to the pearly gates from the 7-11 that St. Peter is going to round them up and announce over a bull horn “you didn’t get it, did ya?”

And Rachel Ray is Evil, I have proof. Either she’s a 3 pack a day Camel unfiltered smoker, or that voice is a demon trying to disguise his identity. She’s no Kathleen Turner.

  7. The $tarbuck$ in Union Station is “located near the Amtrak Baggage Area” according to their locater. You fling on a fringed scarf and I’ll take your picture there.

  8. oooh, that’s tempting. Hey Ken, how do you look in a scarf?

By daffyd on Jun 2, 2008

  9. I briefly entertained the idea of wearing a fringed scarf at the Union Station Starbucks, but it would be an awfully small audience that “got it” if I post the picture to Flickr.

With my luck, I’d also get arrested for being a terrorist sympathizer as well. If the overly Xanaxed RR couldn’t wear a scarf, a geeky IT contractor for the government is surely prison bait.
