Right. So.

I’ve installed XP on Mim’s eeePC, but there’s one small problem.
I can’t get the internet connection to work. I have DSL. She has DSL. It should just be a matter of plugging in the ethernet cable, right?
Right?
Li’l help, guys?

Open “My Network Places” and click “View network connections.” Are there any devices listed? Are they disabled? If there’s no Ethernet device listed under Local Area Connection, can you acquire the correct drivers for the network interface? If the network device is listed and enabled, is it configured for DHCP (”Obtain a network address automatically”)? If it is - if you right-click the Local Area Connection icon, and select “status” and the Support tab, what is displayed?

All of the XP drivers for the EEE are at http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us. The wireless and ethernet are there and have worked for me in the past.
