Off My Game

The Barcstoberfest “Strut Your Mutt” and associated festivities has been moved to the 25th, so there’s still time to donate and sponsor Cardiff. I’m glad it was pushed back because of weather because I was seriously under the weather this weekend. The whole sneezing/coughing/chills/general misery thing. I slept most of Saturday and was bratty on Sunday. I’m still off my game today.

Most of today was spent with a headache so large I thought about giving it a name. Lots of Tylenol and Ibuprofen finally did the trick, but not before seriously throwing my workday out of whack. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t caffeine withdrawal. I know it wasn’t sleep deprivation. It was just a day of suck. At least the weather was fantastic, so that’s something.

Another little disaster this weekend: my LaCie external drive died. The bridge connector is apparently gone. Or, possibly, it’s just the firewire cable. I’m going to try using the cable for my other external drive and pray to whomever/whatever that that’s the problem. Getting a new cable so I can have both hooked up at once is a lot easier and cheaper than trying to get someone to do data recovery for me. Apparently the LaCie drives are not easy to deal with when they decide to go bad.

Lesson learned, man. I have two years worth of photos, videos, mp3s and stories on that thing and I really want need them back.

And then I am going to back everything up. Three times.
