iWant an iPhone

iWant an iPhone - Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

I’ve avoided the lure this long. I haven’t really been interested beyond the “ooh, shiny!” stage at all until we started planning a weekend trip to New York City. Kitti casually said “Wouldn’t it be great to have an iPhone so we could find stuff while we’re there?” and with that, the idea took root and now it will not go away.

I don’t need an iPhone. I have a Kindle for my book-related needs, and a cellphone I almost never use. I also just bought myself an iPod (Nano). I’m also not too thrilled with the thought of the cost of having an iPhone.

And before anyone starts saying things like “Well, there’s the Droid instead…” it’s not the fact that it’s an iPhone that’s putting me off. It’s the cost. And I’ve checked — sure there are cheaper phones, but the monthly cost would cost about the same, and that’s the important part.

iPod Touch, perhaps? Yeah, but then I’d spend all my time looking for a free hotspot. Also, did I mention that I just bought an iPod Nano?

Sell the Nano, buy the iPhone. I just got a Blackberry, and I am still moaning about the cost of things these days.

The iPhone is real handy to have around. Once i got over the excitement / novely phase, i found i used it a lot to find places, lookup resturants, keep on top of business and emails and keep in touch with people. They’re handy, and you won’t look back!
