This … is hard. It’s hard working a real job and trying to be a “normal” person and write.

Our editing staff read your story and we’d like to take it for publication in our Everyday Spectre line, if it’s still available. The terms are as follows: Exclusive electronic rights for 2 years. We pay 35% royalties from sales off the site and 25% off distributor sales (Amazon, fictionwise, etc.) If these terms are acceptable, I’ll get the contract information to you. Have a good day. [Name Removed] Not much, right? But it’s a start! It’s a real place and not self-publishing and you know what? I don’t care if I don’t make a dime off this. IT IS A START. A friend and I were both nominated for silly, meaningless fanfiction “awards” (basically just a chance to get 30 seconds of fame and a handmade graphic) on LiveJournal. We’re laughing about it and calculating our odds (zillions to one against) but still, we’re both kinda pleased. It’s a pleasure just to be nominated yadda. Because it means that people read our stories and liked ‘em.

Not Something I Do OftenPosted by: The Ninth in Writing, tags: fanfiction, fanfiction:torchwood, Geekery, torchwood, WritingPost it here, I mean. I write it more often than I like to admit. Torchwood Fan Fiction. According to the Torchwood fans who have read it, it’s “Delightfully Creepy”. Coincidentally, my name happens to mean “Delightfully Creepy”. Title: Lots of Things you can do with a Stopwatch Signed up for NaNoWriMo and I don’t know why. I get all inspired and wound up and ready for it and then November first hits and I just collapse. Anyhow. NaNoWriMo. This year my approach is going to be a whole hell of a lot of short stories. Original stuff, interconnected in some way. Think television episodes. A core cast of characters, a common location. Now, if you’d please, leave me lots and lots of comments containing plotbunnies. Things you’d love to see me write (that ain’t fanfic). If you lot start saying things like “oh, I don’t know. Something with a table in it” I will HURT YOU. |
