No, Really. I Like Her.

Evangeline: Also, omg, make people stop writing ‘all the sudden’, it makes them look idiotic.

Me: I will make them stop writing “all the sudden” if you rid the world of the “could of” “should of” “would of” thing.

Evangeline: THAT ONE’S EVEN WORSE THAN ALL THE SUDDEN. ARGH. I’m seeing that in published books lately! What’s wrong with everyone?

Me: I suppose everyone could of gone stupid all the sudden.

Well that didn’t last long

I don’t know what it is, but I have real trouble with a layout where the sidebar is on the left. It doesn’t make sense, but I actually feel sort of nervous if the sidebar/menu is over there and not on the right. I think one of the things that bugs me about Google Reader is the fact that the list of articles is on the left. Maybe it has something to do with using the mouse with my right hand? Although it used to bug me when I had the mouse on the left side, too….

New Layout. Maybe.

I’m nearly 100% satisfied with this layout. Problem? The way it cuts off to a “more” after a certain character count, and the fact that links can’t be clicked unless you view the whole post. Gotta fiddle with that. Also not thrilled with the sidebar on the left.

Edit: Fixed everything but the sidebar on the left thing. Yay me.

The Dark Knight

July 26th, 2008

I give it five stars.

Out of ten.

It could have been about an hour shorter. It could have done with one less villain. It could have done with some plot. It could have done without Christian Bale’s modulated Batman voice (and was he wearing fake teeth, or has he always had that lisp?)

It could have done with WAY more Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Like, way more.

Does Heath Ledger deserve an oscar for this? No. Was he good as the Joker? Kinda. In a way that was sort of a combination of Jack Nicholson’s Joker as voiced by French Stewart. Honestly, I kept waiting for him to say “This town needs an enema!” He did actually say something that started with “this town needs…”. There were a few moments when he really did seem unhinged and I thought he was kind of scary/creepy.

I did like Maggie Gyllenhaal in for Katie Holmes, and I wonder if the first movie would have been improved by casting her in the first place.

Overall though, I’m sorry I paid full price for it. A matinee ticket would’ve been better. Seeing it at home would’ve been worse, though. There were times when I knew that if I had been watching it on DVD I would’ve wandered off to check email or have a pee and I wouldn’t have bothered pausing.

Oh, also? WAAAAY too much eyeliner on the Mayor, and Comish. Gordon was totally giving off the creepy 70s Pornstar vibe. Is it just me, or does Gary Oldman do that a lot?

Me: Cardiff was kind of in a bad mood this morning.

Kitti: Well he did have his balls removed.

Me: True. I guess he has a right to be a little… testy.

Kitti: badum-ching!

I love my dentist.

Have a new cartoon by me. It’s not about the dentist.
